It was time to honour the stars of film and TV on Sunday at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. As the best actresses and A-list celebrities took to the red carpet, we were searching for the finest and most stylish handbags. The focus on the glamour of red carpets can often fall on dresses and hair, forgetting that the all important clutch bags can make or break an evening outfit. Here are our top picks from Sunday’s ceremony.
Starting its journey in Italy and arriving in LA, this beautiful clutch bag combines a unique hand-woven texture with a glamorous and classy clasp to make the perfect evening bag. The pastel-pink colour is a refreshing throwback to SS15 and we feel that it really completes the outfit worn by German model Barbara Meier.
The Pearl Pandora Perspex Clutch from Charlotte Olympia combines many features we love in to one handbag. The detailed texture of the bag is highlighted by the acrylic casing and the Perspex gives it a clean shape that allows it to stand out from the rest of the outfit. The bag is finished with a beautiful Swarovski pearl clasp. It is also highly functional with three interchangeable pouches inside. On Sunday it was worn by actress Jane Fonda.
Only Anya Hindmarch can make something we usually dispose of in to something we treasure like no other. Her crisp packet clutches have become increasingly popular since they were first seen in SS14 and have since been worn by the likes of Diane Kruger and Emma Watson. We love this particular one as its shape and texture is vastly highlighted by the high-gloss effect and the fully suede lined interior demonstrates true luxury that can only be found on the red carpet. This bag, named Milla, sticks closely to our perfect idea of an evening clutch bag, and sometimes the simple works best. It has a clean aesthetic, classic shape and classy detailing. It also comes with the addition of a detachable strap, for that extra touch of functionality and comfort. The Golden Globes red carpet this year saw nominee and one of our favourite actresses Melissa McCarthy wear this bag.
