SHERENE MELINDA travelled to Paris this month in preparation for international trade show Premiere Classe. The prestigious event took place at the symbolic Jardin des Tuileries over four days, attracting some of the fashion industry’s biggest buyers from across the world.
We had to navigate rain showers throughout the weekend as we showcased the New Collection on Stand A312. The trade show had a luxurious appeal, with other exhibiting brands demonstrating unique design. Attendance to the show was internationally diverse.
A few brands used bright colours in their designs and some others used painted floral designs. The majority of brands however were relatively understated.
French patissiers were walking around with freshly made snacks for guests and exhibitors, and they even held an opening night soiree for anyone exhibiting. There was public exposure for us including visits from journalists, one who noted we were “one of the few brands that really caught her eye”.
Although emerging brands are often overlooked when first exhibiting, we managed to secure orders. Premiere Classe was a new experience that served as a great way to kick off 2017. Only two months in, SHERENE MELINDA is already starting to grow their international reach.
The next stop will be the California Market Centre as part of Source British; a new trade show based in Los Angeles. It will join a handful of events held in the building including LA Fashion Market, LA Kids Market, Capsule, Coeur, Select Better and Emerge.
