The end of a season and the beginning of the next is always a busy and exciting time at Sherene Melinda as the final touches are made to a whole new creation of designer handbags.
The 2019 Collection is as creative and refined as ever, offering a beautiful range of different sizes and styles incorporating the signature springbok hair-on-hide feature accompanied by soft Italian nappa leather on the outside and soft natural leather on the inside.
In this new collection there are four designs which include: A Tote Bag, Hobo, Multiway and Mini Bag. Each of these will be available in a variety of new 2019 colourways with either the fan or stripe feature.
Tote Bag
The new Sherene Melinda Tote Bag is an elegant and classically styled portfolio bag, a handbag specifically designed for the modern working woman.
This handbag is a structured bag large enough to carry a laptop. With it's spacious inside pouch pocket, hidden back pocket, inside zipped pocket and mobile/pen/ lipstick pouch and keyring attachment (featured in all of the 2019 designs) this handbag has enough room for all the working day essentials.
Designed with a comfortable and sturdy top handle as well as an adjustable and detachable leather and chain strap this handbag is not only stylish but is also a very user friendly work companion.
Hobo
Differing in design to the structured nature of the Tote Bag, the Hobo follows the traditionally slouchy nature. Semi-structured, with a unique diamond shape this handbag is a medium sized bag with enough space to carry all your daily necessities.
The Springbok hair-on-hide feature on this handbag is placed in creative way on the front angled panel of the bag – offering a very individual look.
Inside the main compartment which has a magnetic closure, there is also a zipped pocket to secure your valuables as well as a mobile/pen/lipstick pouch and keyring attachment.
Worn with an adjustable leather strap the Hobo can be tucked under the shoulder as a short shoulder bag or longer depending on your look for the day.
Multiway
As a result of the great popularity of the Sherene Melinda ‘Haupt Bag’ from the 2016 Collection, we are delighted to reintroduce a similar style handbag this season with its up to date design features and made with the finest Italian nappa leather and signature springbok hair-on-hide. If you love the ‘Haupt Bag’ as so many of our customers do – then we are sure that you will love this handbag too!
The Multiway is a rectangular shaped medium sized bag with one zipped compartment. Inside this bag you will also find the thoughtful features of the inside zipped pocket, the pen/lipstick/mobile pouch and keyring attachment.
The unique feature of this handbag are the dual detachable straps, one made of nappa leather, the other a silver-coloured metal chain. This enables a variety of looks for day-evening by using either both or just one of the straps, allowing the bag to be worn as a clutch, shoulder bag, crossbody or wristlet. This makes the Multiway the most versatile handbag of the 2019 collection, with so many options of styling you will never be tired of wearing it!
Mini Bag
The Mini Bag is a small clutch and shoulder bag incorporating the soft edged styling of the hair-on-hide on the front flap of the handbag. This bag has a single main compartment for carrying your essentials.
The detachable silver-coloured metal chain strap adjusts to either short or long and can be removed completely for change of use for both day or night or varied styling to suit the mood, making it the perfect addition for any occasion.
Inside the main compartment there is a zipped pocket, a pen/lipstick/mobile pouch and an internal keyring attachment. The Mini Bag closes using a zip and the magnetic closures placed on the front flap offer additional security and comfort.

Earlier this year I was inspired to create a leather tote bag which was different to the typical style handbag that I normally create. Generally, SHERENE MELINDA’S handbags focus on the hair-on-hide feature. However, in this case I wanted to create an extra-large soft and versatile shopping bag using some beautiful, glazed leather.
