Today we have the pleasure of announcing our winner of the Christmas competition to win a Sophy clutch bag. The lucky and lovely lady is called Clare and this week we caught up with her to hear what she thought about winning one of our handbags!
How did you hear about the competition, we asked her?
'It was at an exhibition at Olympia. An eye-catching row of bags lured me over to take a closer look'.
What colour Sophy Clutch did you choose and why?
'I've chosen the olive green colour. It was a difficult choice in that I liked several colours but in the end I wanted something different in colour from other bags I own (black, brown, neutral in the main) and I think it goes beautifully with the dark colours I often wear (I have quite a lot of black and charcoal and mid-greys in my wardrobe). Also I partly chose it as I thought the design speaks for itself so I felt (for me at least) I prefered the colour to be more muted'.
What features of the Sophy Clutch do you like the most?
'The hide, the fan, the soft leather, the lining and the metal chain strap!'
Do you think you will wear the bag more in the daytime or evening?
'Evening. I have 3 young children so, 1. I'd be horrified if some sticky little fingers got hold of it and 2. it won't fit 3 water bottles, various toys, tissues, odd bits of wood, stones and whatever else I'm handed on a daily basis to carry home for them'.
Do you have any upcoming events you are planning on wearing it to?
'If I can find the childcare, I've been invited to The Ivy for lunch next week. If I go, so will my new bag! Otherwise I've a trip to the races coming up soon. I'm also going out to a comedy cabaret soon with some girlfriends so that's also a great opportunity to wear it'.
How does the quality of your new handbag compare with others in your wardrobe?
'I have some quality bags (such as Osprey and Mulberry) which it compares very favourably to. It is clearly better quality than most of my other leather bags'.
What do you like most about the springbok hair-on-hide?
'I like that it's a unique hide. I've had pony hide items before and this takes that look a step further. I love the fan, I think it gives the bag its "wow" factor without being at all contrived'.
What positive things have others had to say about your new bag?
'No-one has yet seen it in the flesh except my family. My husband said "that's very you" and my eldest daughter is coveting it already. She is almost 8. I've talked about the bags, before receiving one myself, with friends and they were very complimentary, appreciating the great range of colours and styles so you can choose one that suits you the best - almost as good as a bespoke bag'.
