Despite the grey clouds today, the weather in London has been slowly picking up in recognition of a much-welcomed summer season. SHERENE MELINDA’s summertime events calendar is fully booked. This week, we’ll be exhibiting at Countryfile Live, a celebration of the British countryside.
What is Countryfile Live?
There is a TV programme that has aired weekly on the BBC since 1988 called Countryfile. It explores wildlife, conservation, farming and food production, arts, countryside crafts, social history and leisure activities across different areas in Britain.
Countryfile Live is the first live version of the TV show, to last 4 days between 4th and 7th August at Blenheim Palace (pictured below). The live version will feature appearances from the presenters; John Craven, Adam Henson, Matt Baker, Tom Heap, Ellie Harrison, Anita Rani and Helen Skelton.
In 2001, presenter Adam Henson joined with a segment called ‘Adam’s Farm’ (video below), which explores the complicated process of running a farm in the Cotswold. There will be a live version of this at the event in August.
Alongside this, there will be live arena shows, rare breed and other animal displays, the latest farming machinery, outdoor fun for kids, hundreds of food and craft stalls to shop and the best of British food and drink.
Where is it?
The event will take place at the idyllic setting of the 300-year-old Blenheim Palace, built in recognition of John Churchill’s victory over the French in the War of the Spanish Succession. The 1st Duke of Marlborough was the military commander who led the allied forces in The Battle of Blenheim. In 1705, Queen Anne rewarded him with the grounds and £240,000 to build a palace.
Today, the palace is open to the public but still houses the 12th Duke of Marlborough, Jamie Spencer-Churchill and his family, which has historically included many famous figures, such as Sir Winston Churchill.
Why we’ll be exhibiting there
Exhibiting alongside the best of the British countryside is important to us because the first inspirations behind the SHERENE MELINDA brand were to bring the sustainably sourced unique South African springbok hair-on-hide to the UK fashion scene. Countryfile is the embodiment of British culture and way of life, and it is fantastic that the SHERENE MELINDA brand can be a part of it. Equally, exhibiting at such events around the country helps to develop our presence on a national level and introduce more people to the brand.
Where you can find us
We will be located on Stand E048. Blenheim Palace can be found at Woodstock, Oxfordshire OX20 1PP.

Glorious love has been a part of SHERENE MELINDA right from its inception. Whilst a beautiful physical gift 👜👟 is no doubt appreciated, this is not the only way to give and receive love. ❤️ The "languages of love" concept was popularized by Dr. Gary Chapman in his book "The Five Love Languages". Here he talks about five love languages.
