Announcing the winner of the Haupt Bag

Announcing the winner of the Haupt Bag

At SHERENE MELINDA, giving a handbag away brings us just as much joy as selling one. Running alongside the release of our latest style, the Haupt Bag, we decided to offer up the opportunity of winning one of the bags. The competition began preceding the release of the bag and closed on the last day of The Spirit of Christmas Fair. We received many responses from excited entrants, but unfortunately only one lucky winner could be chosen.

The lucky person was a lovely lady named Reelika, who was overcome with joy when we contacted her to make her aware of the good news. Following the announcement, we asked Reelika if she wouldn’t mind answering a few questions about her fantastic prize.

  • 'How did you hear about the competition?'

'On Facebook. I am following SHERENE MELINDA´s Facebook page'.

You can view our Facebook page here to keep an eye out for any competitions we have in the future.

  • 'What attracted you to the competition?'

'A chance to win a different, like no other, practical and stylish handbag'.

  • 'What do you like most about the design of your new Haupt Bag?'

'I genuinely like these two detachable straps! The size is perfect for every event. Also, the colour is stunning and the quality of leather and other materials used is very good'.

  • 'What colour Haupt Bag did you choose and why?'

'I chose a red handbag because red is my favourite colour and it matches almost everything in my wardrobe. But burnt orange and baby blue are my other favourites'.

  • 'On which occasion are you most excited to first wear your Haupt Bag?'

'To be honest, I´ve been wearing my bag every day since I received it. And getting so much positive attention and interest from other women!'

  • 'What style do you think you will most regularly adopt when wearing your new Haupt Bag; will you wear it as a clutch bag, crossbody bag or shoulder bag?'

'Probably as a crossbody and a clutch bag, depends on the occasion'.

We hope that Reelika enjoys her new handbag, and thanks to both her and everyone else for entering the competition. Please continue to show your support and like our Facebook page to be kept up to date with all our news.

MATERIALS

Our handbags are made using leather both inside and out. We use nappa leather on the outside and the handbags are lined with an ecofriendly (using no harmful chemicals or dyes) natural pigskin leather in the inside. This helps to make our bags incredibly soft and luxurious but also durable and longlasting.

For our signature feature that we have become known for we use genuine Springbok hair-on-hide leather. The ethical source of the materials is very important to us. Springbok are classified as non-cites (which means there is no threat to the survival of the species) and the animals live freely in abundance in South Africa. The sustainability of the species is carefully managed and the population is culled to keep the ecosystem in balance. The local food industry benefits from this and the by-products are also utilised in decorative ways in interiors, furniture and fashion.

All our leathers are a by-product of the food-industry.

We use only high quality YKK zips and silver-coloured metal chains, studs and handbag hardware.

All our handbags are offered with a white cotton dustbag to keep them clean.
