Vogue is considered by many to be a pinnacle of the fashion industry. As our eyes were fixated on US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour during her speech at The British Fashion Awards, the January 2015 issue of British Vogue was in its final stages of production. This particular issue was even more special than a copy of Vogue magazine normally is each month as we knew that our designer profile was to be featured.
Vogue is recognised on a global scale for their contribution to the world of fashion. They release 23 issues of their magazine a month. They have always been an inspiration to SHERENE MELINDA and their support for fresh, unique and distinctive designers is something to be admired. Earlier this year I was inspired to create a leather tote bag which was different to the typical style handbag that I normally create. Generally, SHERENE MELINDA’S handbags focus on the hair-on-hide feature. However, in this case I wanted to create an extra-large soft and versatile shopping bag using some beautiful, glazed leather.
