Sherene Melinda - LONDON Handbag Designer is one year old

This April 1st, SHERENE MELINDA will be celebrating our one year anniversary. We believe that the first year of any life, whether it is the life of a company or the life of a person, is a year of exponential learning. In the past year we have learnt so many things; the ability to craft handbags, creating and releasing new styles, generating sales/marketing opportunities, growing our online and social media presence. The lessons we have learnt have gifted us with the potential of growing our brand; and as the first year of life is one of learning, the second year of life is one of potential. Just as a plant starts as a bud, and blooms to a beautiful flower that spreads its reach, SHERENE MELINDA is starting a bigger journey than the one we faced in the first year.

How will we be celebrating?

We will be celebrating our one year anniversary by holding a competition to win one of our Haupt Bags and additionally we are offering a 10% discount on all our handbags. On the actual day of our anniversary we will be exhibiting at the Ideal Home Show, stand B522, and we will be having celebrations on the stand throughout that day! We will be at the show (at London Olympia, Kensington) from the 20th March to the 6th April so please feel free to come and visit us! On the 6th of April during the Ideal Home Show's last day we will be closing the competition to win a Haupt Bag (details below).

Competition time!

Anniversaries are usually a time of giving gifts and our anniversary is no different. We will be giving away a Haupt Bag to one lucky person (the colour of which will be their choice). All you have to do to win is sign up to our mailing list.

If we already have your email address then don’t worry! Just send us an email to with the subject line ‘competition’ and register your entry.

10% discount on all products

We understand that there can only be one winner of the Haupt Bag; which is why we have now applied a 10% discount across all our handbags in celebration of our one year milestone.

We hope you have enjoyed getting to know SHERENE MELINDA over the past 12 months and that you continue to follow our journey over the coming years. Remember that you can stay up-to-date on all our news by following us on social media (links below) or signing up to our mailing list. We hope to see you at the Ideal Home Show and good luck to everybody who enters the competition!

Our handbags are made using leather both inside and out. We use nappa leather on the outside and the handbags are lined with an ecofriendly (using no harmful chemicals or dyes) natural pigskin leather in the inside. This helps to make our bags incredibly soft and luxurious but also durable and longlasting.

For our signature feature that we have become known for we use genuine Springbok hair-on-hide leather. The ethical source of the materials is very important to us. Springbok are classified as non-cites (which means there is no threat to the survival of the species) and the animals live freely in abundance in South Africa. The sustainability of the species is carefully managed and the population is culled to keep the ecosystem in balance. The local food industry benefits from this and the by-products are also utilised in decorative ways in interiors, furniture and fashion.

All our leathers are a by-product of the food-industry.

We use only high quality YKK zips and silver-coloured metal chains, studs and handbag hardware.

All our handbags are offered with a white cotton dustbag to keep them clean.
