As the summer story of SHERENE MELINDA will soon draw to a close, the penultimate chapters offer us a fantastic finale of excitement and new experiences.
On Sunday 2nd to Tuesday 4th August, SHERENE MELINDA had the thrilling opportunity of exhibiting our unique range of springbok handbags at this year's Pure London Trade show.
What is Pure London?
It was SHERENE MELINDA's first time exhibiting at Pure London, the leading UK fashion trade show, which currently takes place twice a year at Olympia London. Pure London focuses on bringing the talented work of womenswear, accessory and footwear designers to the attention of leading fashion retailers across the country. It is attended by over 12,000 high calibre fashion retailers from both independent and department stores including; 46 buyers from Fenwick, 27 buyers from ASOS, 17 buyers from House of Fraser, 10 buyers from Harvey Nichols and 4 buyers from Harrods.
The first trade show
With several trips to Olympia London over the past year, it seemed that the grand halls and skylight ceilings were becoming familiar sights. This time, however, there was a different feeling of anticipation as we stocked the shelves of Stand T105. As Sunday's sun drew its first light, SHERENE MELINDA's first trade show began. It was still filled with shopper's excited chatter and eager footsteps, sounds that have become music to our ears after having exhibited at multiple retail shows. Despite the familiar sounds and sights, it was the first time exhibiting to the trade, an exciting opportunity that offered the potential for our springbok handbags to make journeys across the country and take places on the shelves of different retailers.

We were specially selected from amongst 100's of brands to showcase on the PURE catwalk
Three times a day, for the three days the event took place, the chatter of Olympia London was shadowed by the beating of drums and the stomping of feet as Pure London held its prestigious catwalk show. When the music started, our hearts skipped a beat, for we knew that our springbok handbags would be taking centre stage alongside the work of other specially selected designers, in front of an audience of hundreds. It is difficult to describe in words the excitement and pride of seeing SHERENE MELINDA’s handbags decorate the arms of models, and stun the eyes of spectators alike.

The closing chapters of this summer
Pure London was a sensational three days of new experiences, but it was only the penultimate chapter in the summer story of SHERENE MELINDA.
