On Friday 8th March, Women will be celebrated around the world during International Women's Day.
This is a global day in which recognition is made of the talents and achievements of women from all over the world and in all aspects of society, at the same time promoting gender balance worldwide.
The first International Women's Day celebration (IWD) was in 1911 when a gathering of over a million people from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Denmark took place in support of this celebration.
This year's theme is: Better the balance, better the world , #balanceforbetter which is not just a theme to last for the day, but a continuing campaign for the whole year to help towards bringing greater gender-balance to our world.
As well as the many different IWD events that you can attend in support of this, there is also a very creative way to get involved through the IWD Photo Competition. A perfect way to capture the essence and strength of women in their diverse roles and cultures.

SHERENE MELINDA has expanded its luxury offerings beyond handbags to include leather trainers. Sherene has spent a long time designing these sneakers to ensure they are of the highest standard and the most luxurious quality. Each trainer is carefully handcrafted from leather suede on the exterior and is fully leather lined inside. SHERENE MELINDA’s signature Springbok hair-on-hide is also featured down the side of the trainer, making each trainer unique. The hair-on-hide is available in a range of neutral tones, as well as a variety of vibrant colourful tones. The trainers are also extremely lightweight, making them a comfortable go-to pair of shoes, perfect for everyday use or special occasions.
