At Sherene Melinda there is great attention taken to incoporating the functionality and long lasting use of a handbag with up to date style and design features.

The Multiway Bag is just one of the four new handbags that Sherene Melinda launched within the 2019 Collection at the beginning of the year.

As its name suggests the 'Multiway' has a variety of ways of styling. These different ways are made possible with the use of two detachable straps, one being a silver coloured chain, and the other made of leather. These can be attached together to create a longer crossbody style handbag or each one can be used singularly to create a short shoulder bag with either the chain or the leather. With the use of just one of the straps you can make the handbag into a wristlet or by removing them entirely the Multiway transforms into a large clutch bag suitable for a special occasion.

To date we have found at least nine ways to adapt the straps, each time giving a slightly different look to the handbag, making it seem like you are wearing a new handbag every time you change the straps!

Aside from this amazing design feature, the Multiway is a very comfortably sized handbag big enough for daytime essentials, as well as having a luxurious look making it perfect to wear for a night out.

As with all the handbags from the 2019 Collection, the Multiway has been made with Italian nappa leather and ethically sourced Springbok hair-on-hide. The interior is also fully leather lined. Inside the main zipped compartment of the handbag there is a zipped pocket, mobile/pen/lipstock pouch and a keyring attachment, giving the possibility to fit everything you need tidily inside.

The Sherene Melinda Multiway is available with either the fan or stripe signature feature in some beautiful bold colours and subtle neutral tones offering an option for everyone.

Our handbags are made using leather both inside and out. We use nappa leather on the outside and the handbags are lined with an ecofriendly (using no harmful chemicals or dyes) natural pigskin leather in the inside. This helps to make our bags incredibly soft and luxurious but also durable and longlasting.

For our signature feature that we have become known for we use genuine Springbok hair-on-hide leather. The ethical source of the materials is very important to us. Springbok are classified as non-cites (which means there is no threat to the survival of the species) and the animals live freely in abundance in South Africa. The sustainability of the species is carefully managed and the population is culled to keep the ecosystem in balance. The local food industry benefits from this and the by-products are also utilised in decorative ways in interiors, furniture and fashion.

All our leathers are a by-product of the food-industry.

We use only high quality YKK zips and silver-coloured metal chains, studs and handbag hardware.

All our handbags are offered with a white cotton dustbag to keep them clean.
